Ein interessantes Detail zu dem Schnellboot-Vorfall in der Straße von Hormus neulich ist, dass die Amerikaner ja immer behaupten, das sei in internationalen Gewässern gewesen. Nun guckt euch doch mal die Karte der Gegend an, und den Wikipedia-Eintrag zu Internationalen Gewässern an. Völlig klar: in der Straße von Hormus gibt es keine internationalen Gewässer. Die Schiffahrtsrinne in der Straße von Hormus gehört dem Iran.

Aber für die anderen soll sie gelten. Wie üblich. Und warum haben sie sie nicht ratifiziert?

According to them, the convention "prohibits two functions vital to American security: collecting intelligence and submerged transit of territorial waters".Die Konvention fordert u.a. auch, dass Schiffe im Transit da dann auch ohne Verzögerung durchfahren und nicht anhalten oder gar militärisch Gewalt androhen oder Messungen durchführen.
